Kolkata To Sundarbans – A Journey Through Basanti Road

Back in March 2015, I have got a change to explore The Sundarbans, one of the most amazing places of India, so called “Amazon of East”. I traveled to Sundarbans from Kolkata through Basanti road and this rustic road journey turned out the most memorable journey I ever had. We traveled through many villages one by one on Kaccha/Dirt road. I still remembered, at the time, when we were started towards Sundarbans, one of the members from coordinating team us already told us “Abhi bahot majja aane wala hai aap logo ko” (Now, you guys are going to have a fun). Indeed, this journey was an unique experience (As good as equal to Bumper ride).  Most of the times, our coordinators were telling us real incidents, the villagers stories and how they spotted the Royal Bengal tigers and other wildlife in forest. Girgaon Chowpatty & Marine Drive

Mumbai is blessed with some beautiful beaches and Girgaon Chowpatty is one of them. What I like most about Marine drive and Girgaon Chowpatty, I get to watch beautiful sunset with thousands of other people. I had spent my numerous evenings with my close friends at Marine Drive, a beautiful boulevard along with a coast of Arabian Sea. Though, Marine drive and chowpatty are always heavily crowded, but I never get tired of visiting them. People come, sit and relax for hours. Local sellers offer chatai/mat to the visitors on charge of hours for the more comforting evening. There are a few food stalls nearby chowpatty. One can try street food/chat items like Panipuri, Pav bhaji, Bhelpuri, Ice creams etc. Girgaon Chowpatty get a quite attention during the time of Ganesh Chaturthi, a Hindu festival. The beach is famous for Ganesh visarjan in Mumbai, where people come to immerse the Ganesh idols in the sea. As per my Mission Mumbai 50 list, Girgaon Chowpatty and Marine Drive are the must see places in Mumbai. So, next …
