Sri Lanka Travel Itinerary

Sri Lanka, a tiny little island county from Asia will give you thousands of reasons to pack your bag and make it your next travel destination. Indeed, one of the most peaceful, beautiful and affordable countries to visit in the world. Beaches, Hills, History, People, Culture, Cuisine, Spirituality and a lot of Tuk Tuk Rides. In short, Sri Lanka has it all. Back in 2015, I visited Sri Lanka for the first time. It was a sort of unplanned backpacking trip for 9 days and it turned out one of the best trips I have ever had. My travel experiences in Sri Lanka include some of awesome experiences like watching one of the best sunsets at Mirissa Beach, hitched-hiking till mini Adam’s peak from side to side tea gardens, rigorously climbing 1200 steps of the world famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress, visiting the ancient ruins and a few UENSOC world heritage sites, insanely travelling across the states in TUK-TUK, searching leopards in Yala national park, chasing the whales in the Indian ocean, rice & curries & …

Kolkata To Sundarbans – A Journey Through Basanti Road

Back in March 2015, I have got a change to explore The Sundarbans, one of the most amazing places of India, so called “Amazon of East”. I traveled to Sundarbans from Kolkata through Basanti road and this rustic road journey turned out the most memorable journey I ever had. We traveled through many villages one by one on Kaccha/Dirt road. I still remembered, at the time, when we were started towards Sundarbans, one of the members from coordinating team us already told us “Abhi bahot majja aane wala hai aap logo ko” (Now, you guys are going to have a fun). Indeed, this journey was an unique experience (As good as equal to Bumper ride).  Most of the times, our coordinators were telling us real incidents, the villagers stories and how they spotted the Royal Bengal tigers and other wildlife in forest. For me , it was the most rustic route I have ever been to and the interesting part was I witnessed urban and rural life in a single day. As we were moving away from the …

Sundarban Diaries

I was laying on the edge of the Elmar and watching the open blue sky. The Elmar – our small boat was cruising through the infinite backwaters of the Bay of Bengal. I was surrounded by the largest mangrove forest and the largest delta of the Ganges. The pleasant wind was blowing against my face and I was effortlessly going with the flow of nature, passing through the various channels and creeks of the Sundarban delta. I was exploring the least explored destination of the India. I spent two days on the small boat with the curiosity of witnessing The Royal Bengal Tiger and capturing the unseen beauty of Sundarban with my naked eyes. It was all about the serenity of forest, wandering in the wild, appreciating the power of nature and living the life of native people on the some remote island. Was it all real or just a dream?  Now, I am back in Mumbai with the beautiful memories of Sundarban. I am completely in love with it. The Sundarban is the land of Bengal tigers …
