Ooty, I have seen in many movies, romantic songs and in fact in some of the horror movies as well.  I still remember from my childhood, how fascinated I was about this place. It was a cold freezing night; when we reached Ooty after almost of 7 hours of long driving from Bangalore. In my previous post, I had shared the story how I ended up road tripping in Ooty. Unplanned things can bring real excitements in your travels. Have you ever got chance to go on any unplanned road trip? Sometimes, Journey is far better than the destination and if it is unplanned then we get to know how well we can manage all unexpected things. Recently, I was in Bangalore for my Wildcraft Alpha League Race event. Wildcraft Alpha League Race event was an adventure race in which we contestants had run 5 kms of muddy track along with crossing 20 different obstacles. Unexpectedly, there was a huge crowd of around 5000 people. It was the one of the best adventure experiences I had after Waterfall Rappelling. But at the end of the race my friends and I were totally tired and our bodies were aching badly. It was our reunion time, we four friends decided to go on a road trip and explore the Bangalore city and nearby places.  With some basic trip planning of a few hours we came up with the plan and we hired a car for one day .We thought …

First Trip of 2015 – Matheran

New Year always brings a lot of excitement in my life. New Year eve, 1st and 2nd of Jan (My birthday), these 3 days of every year are full of parties and enjoyments. But more importantly, the New Year always comes with the new hopes and resolutions. This year, I had added very few items on my resolutions list, so I can really focus on completing them first, maybe in the mid of the year I can add a few more items on the list. Apart from staying loyal to my blog, I have decided to fill 2015 with a lot of memorable travel and the road trips. I just want to focus on travelling more and more. I want to explore India in a better ways.  As of now I am considering visiting at least 3-4 states of India in 2015. Back in 2011, I had visited Matheran with my few friends during monsoon season, the best time to visit Matheran. It is a smallest hill station of India, located in the western ghats. …

Matheran Hill Station

Matheran is a small hill station around 120 km from Mumbai, located in the wide range of western ghats. Matheran is specially known for it’s incredible beauty during monsoon season. In my recent outing, I enjoyed the true natural beauty of Matheran specially the hills, green forest, waterfalls. The best way to travel to Matheran is a toy train, which starts from the neral station. 2 hrs of toy train journey through green hills and forest was a unique experience, When I first entered in Matheran,I felt like I was in some other era. Something like I have traveled back in time. The place was so silent and peaceful, greenery all around, narrow and confusing roads, horses and traditional homes. Matheran is vehicle free; so one needs to take a horse ride or manual rickshaw for longer distance. Echo point, Sunset point, Louisa point, Charlotte Lake, Rambag point, Panaroma point, Pisarnath temple, Monkey point are some famous spots. There is a local flea market near Matheran station. Food, hotels and home stays are decent & affordable. Just have to be a bit careful around monkeys. …
