15 Best Things To Do in Goa

It’s been nearly a few months since my Sri Lanka Backpacking trip and I started feeling my wanderlust again. So this time I chose to backpack Goa and it turned out the craziest trip of the year. Back in 2012, I have been to Goa with my friends and guys trust me, it was just like a normal leisure Goa trip, but in backpacking I experienced Goa never like before, in crazier and wicked ways. Though Goa is the smallest state of India, but it has become the most popular destination among the tourists and bachelors. Interesting fact is that every bachelor in India at least once wants to go Goa and just to experience the nightlife. Goa defines the ultimate freedom and leisure. I love that feeling to sit next to the beach with a glass of red wine and do nothing but feel the passing time, see the people and wait for the sun to go down. So here we go, if you are looking for some adventure, then try Goa in backpacking …

Puducherry (Pondicherry) You Must Visit At Least Once

Puducherry (Pondicherry) or Pondy is one of the seven union territories of India. The place was in our rough plan when I was in Chennai along with my few friends for one wedding function.  After the wedding function, we had one whole day extra for our leisure time. We decide to go for a day trip to Pondicherry.  We booked a personal car for a day and the next morning we started our journey towards Pondicherry. Pondicherry is around 150 kilometers from Chennai via East Coast Road (ECR).  I was super excited since ECR journey is considered as the one of the best road journeys of India. We were mostly driving through the coastal areas and indeed, it was an amazing road journey though the climate was bit humid and hot. Pondicherry Beach was the first stop where we stopped.  It offers beautiful seafront.  There is a huge statue of Gandhi Ji at one on the entrances along with long promenade for walking. Frankly, summer is not so good to visit Pondicherry. Initially, we got …

Marina Beach, Chennai

No Doubt, the sea view was splendid. As I soaked my feet in seawater of Marina Beach, the first time in my life I felt the part of the Bay of Bengal. Nothing can give me a better feeling than spending a few days in another state,a far far away from work. So I was in Chennai with my best buddies for a wedding of my friend’s sister. On the wedding day, we witnessed a wedding ceremony in Tamil style and then we ate various Chennai special food items. In the evening, we were having plenty of time to roam around, so we decided to visit Marina Beach. Marina Beach, one of the famous tourist attractions in Chennai. As mentioned on the wiki, Marina Beach is not a just beach. It holds a few records like the longest beach in India (13 kms) as well the world’s eleventh longest beach. Travelling on public transport is a bit challenging, language is a barrier. It was not easy to convince rickshaw drivers. All the rickshaw drivers were asking …

Girgaon Chowpatty & Marine Drive

Mumbai is blessed with some beautiful beaches and Girgaon Chowpatty is one of them. What I like most about Marine drive and Girgaon Chowpatty, I get to watch beautiful sunset with thousands of other people. I had spent my numerous evenings with my close friends at Marine Drive, a beautiful boulevard along with a coast of Arabian Sea. Though, Marine drive and chowpatty are always heavily crowded, but I never get tired of visiting them. People come, sit and relax for hours. Local sellers offer chatai/mat to the visitors on charge of hours for the more comforting evening. There are a few food stalls nearby chowpatty. One can try street food/chat items like Panipuri, Pav bhaji, Bhelpuri, Ice creams etc. Girgaon Chowpatty get a quite attention during the time of Ganesh Chaturthi, a Hindu festival. The beach is famous for Ganesh visarjan in Mumbai, where people come to immerse the Ganesh idols in the sea. As per my Mission Mumbai 50 list, Girgaon Chowpatty and Marine Drive are the must see places in Mumbai. So, next …
