It was a dark all over and what I could see is the gleams of the lights and bright illuminations Kolkata city.Early in the morning we reached the Kolkata airport/Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. I was on my trip to Sundarban along with other 6 members.   Short Info of Kolkata  Kolkata is a capital of the West Bengal State and one of the metropolitan cities on India . Sundarbans National Park

I was laying on the edge of the Elmar and watching the open blue sky. The Elmar – our small boat was cruising through the infinite backwaters of the Bay of Bengal. I was surrounded by the largest mangrove forest and the largest delta of the Ganges. The pleasant wind was blowing against my face and I was effortlessly going with the flow of nature, passing through the various channels and creeks of the Sundarban delta. I was exploring the least explored destination of the India. I spent two days on the small boat with the curiosity of witnessing The Royal Bengal Tiger and capturing the unseen beauty of Sundarban with my naked eyes. It was all about the serenity of forest, wandering in the wild, appreciating the power of nature and living the life of native people on the some remote island. Was it all real or just a dream?  Now, I am back in Mumbai with the beautiful memories of Sundarban. I am completely in love with it. The Sundarban is the land of Bengal tigers …

Around 12 pm, we reached in Pondicherry. We were wandering on the roads of Pondicherry in a search of any good hotel or resort. We all were so hungry due to journey. Accidentally, we saw a direction board of Le Pondy resort and we decided to go ahead with it. (I am so thankful to that direction board) Today, I am sharing experience of my day spent at Le Pondy luxury resort. Well, I would not lie if I say Le Pondy is the best resort I have ever been to until now. Entrance As I entered in Le Pondy, first thing I saw was a circular area with a beautiful dome structure in the center. At the reception, I got a big smile from a foreigner relaxing around the reception area. The resort was calm, clean and green. As …

Marina Beach, Chennai

No Doubt, the sea view was splendid. As I soaked my feet in seawater of Marina Beach, the first time in my life I felt the part of the Bay of Bengal. Nothing can give me a better feeling than spending a few days in another state,a far far away from work. So I was in Chennai with my best buddies for a wedding of my friend’s sister. On the wedding day, we witnessed a wedding ceremony in Tamil style and then we ate various Chennai special food items. In the evening, we were having plenty of time to roam around, so we decided to visit Marina Beach. Marina Beach, one of the famous tourist attractions in Chennai. As mentioned on the wiki, Marina Beach is not a just beach. It holds a few records like the longest beach in India (13 kms) as well the world’s eleventh longest beach. Travelling on public transport is a bit challenging, language is a barrier. It was not easy to convince rickshaw drivers. All the rickshaw drivers were asking …

First Trip of 2015 – Matheran

New Year always brings a lot of excitement in my life. New Year eve, 1st and 2nd of Jan (My birthday), these 3 days of every year are full of parties and enjoyments. But more importantly, the New Year always comes with the new hopes and resolutions. This year, I had added very few items on my resolutions list, so I can really focus on completing them first, maybe in the mid of the year I can add a few more items on the list. Apart from staying loyal to my blog, I have decided to fill 2015 with a lot of memorable travel and the road trips. I just want to focus on travelling more and more. I want to explore India in a better ways.  As of now I am considering visiting at least 3-4 states of India in 2015. Back in 2011, I had visited Matheran with my few friends during monsoon season, the best time to visit Matheran. It is a smallest hill station of India, located in the western ghats. …

My Accidental Visit to Vrindavan Studio

Location – Umargao/ Umbergaon, Gujarat Vrindavan Studio – Vrindavan studio is well known for shooting famous Indian mythological serials like Mahabharat, Ramanyan, Hanuman etc. Timing – 9.30 am -6.30 pm (No entry fees) My Accidental Visit to Vrindavan Studio – It was totally unusual; I was on my family trip to Daman. (My family hardly goes to any trip) On the way to Daman, we halted at Umargao Beach which is considered as the silent beach, but this time beach was different & crowded. Most of the shore was occupied by red & blue tents, horses, chariots, people and statues. After discussing with a few local people, we came to know; there is a shooting going on for Mahabharat serial. Without any delay, I made a quick move toward set where some of the crew members & actors were practicing their scene of Mahabharat War. The set was well decorated. The whole set was surrounded by the audience .It was a tough task for coordinators to manage public as well as shooting. After Number of …

Matheran Hill Station

Matheran is a small hill station around 120 km from Mumbai, located in the wide range of western ghats. Matheran is specially known for it’s incredible beauty during monsoon season. In my recent outing, I enjoyed the true natural beauty of Matheran specially the hills, green forest, waterfalls. The best way to travel to Matheran is a toy train, which starts from the neral station. 2 hrs of toy train journey through green hills and forest was a unique experience, When I first entered in Matheran,I felt like I was in some other era. Something like I have traveled back in time. The place was so silent and peaceful, greenery all around, narrow and confusing roads, horses and traditional homes. Matheran is vehicle free; so one needs to take a horse ride or manual rickshaw for longer distance. Echo point, Sunset point, Louisa point, Charlotte Lake, Rambag point, Panaroma point, Pisarnath temple, Monkey point are some famous spots. There is a local flea market near Matheran station. Food, hotels and home stays are decent & affordable. Just have to be a bit careful around monkeys. …

Velas Turtle Festival, Ratnagiri

Velas is a small village in Ratnagiri district. Recently, I had visited Velas for Turtle Festival with Mumbai Travellers. From last few years, it has gained quite attention among the tourists and nature lovers.  The festival was mainly focused on the turtles. We came to know a lot much about the turtles and the different phases of their life cycle.  At the end of the day, NGO Team had shown us the documentaries of turtles, vultures and explained us their importance in ecosystem. I had actually witnessed the baby turtles hatching and their baby steps toward the sea. (Amazing Moment) Apart from turtle festival, there are other attractions as well like …
