About Me

Hey Guys,

Welcome to my blog “The Travel Junkie”

I’m Manisha, an Indian girl who travels with the full-time job. I travel and I write my travel stories.

Well to begin with ‘About me’. (The hardest task to write about yourself, isn’t it?)

DSC_0012

I am software engineer by profession and I work for a multinational company from Mumbai.

As soon as I completed my bachelor degree, I grabbed the one of the best jobs in IT industry and I am so proud of myself. At age 0f 22, I started earning. I still remember, when I got my first salary, I was so happy like the happiest person on the world. I was living my dreams; engineer degree job in MNC, corporate life, parties and the unlimited fun.

But the time flies, the four years of 9-5 jobs already passed with new learning, challenges, ups-downs making me realize; the day by day I am just earning, not actually living. I was fully occupied in 9-5 job. My life was so busy and hectic in between work and weekends.

One fine day, I made a list of my desires, what I want to be, have and experience. And when I analysed it deeply, I realized most of the things were related to travel experiences, nature, food, writing, knowing people and their culture etc.

Well, that spark was enough for me to do make my mind to start this blog to share my travel and living stories.

Yes, on that day I found what is my happiness and the purpose. What I want to be, have and experience. It did not take me much time to create my blog with help of WordPress, such awesome blogging platform.

So, this is pretty much story How I started travel blogging. However, I am not a professional writer or photographer, but it’s never too late to pursue your passion and your dreams.

What I love about the most about travel blogging? Well, it inspires me to travel more, travel far, see the beauty of place and people, jump out of my comfort zone, experience something new each and every day and do something that really matters; something that makes my soul happy.

I would love if you join me on journeys,  on Twitter @iManishaTajne and on Facebook page – The Travel Junkie

  7. It’s a great thing, you picked up the “virtual pencil” and your camera, and write & shoot 🙂 A great way of learning to look and enjoy beauty.

So software engineering huh? I “sort of” do that too (Business Intelligence). A great way to make money, and luckily, for me a career, not just a job. But just working 9 to 5… killing, innit? You need more in life, that just to work.

Thanks for following my blog. I am looking forward to your future posts!

    Warm regards,

    • Hi Tieme,
Thank you for following my blog and I hope you are doing great. 🙂
I guess, we have the same story. Software techies looking out for some aliveness. We need something more in life apart from 9 to 5. Indeed, 9 to 5 kills but pays well 😛
“Blog” is something that brings zeal and joy. 🙂
It is my pleasure to connect with you virtually . Your blog is great and I do enjoy your photography.
Best wishes and Happy blogging . I will keep following your blog.

      • Hi Manisha,

Thank you, I am doing fine, hope you do too!

I guess we do share a similar story. Haha the money is good, can’t complain. And luckily my employer knows I need to do more than just work 9 to 5, so I do many training sessions on personal growth and management, so that is great too!

Good to read blogging works out good for you likewise. Although I have to admit, that sometimes it feels like an obligation.

But it also motivates me to continue working on my passion, it is as we say in Dutch “a stick behind the door”. (A saying that is derived from mothers having a little stick behind a kitchen door, moms use to hit kids when they misbehave)

All the best to you too!

        Regards,
        Tieme

  23. We, human beings, tend to take things for granted. We easily adopt routine, and automatic behavior. And often, as you say, time passes and we become less aware of the little details, and the wonders of life… because it is all routine. Travel brings us to the unexpected. We see new things all the time, and never know what is waiting for us around the corner. This heightens our awareness. I wish you much success in your travels. And hope that after a time, you will be able to find something new and blessed with every step you take, even if it is in the old familiar surroundings. Best wishes to you.

Thank you so much for such beautiful & meaningful comment. I totally agree with you, we tend to take things for granted. As time goes we become slaves to our daily routines. Sometime I feel stuck too, but travel brings joy and peace.
