Mumbai is blessed with some beautiful beaches and Girgaon Chowpatty is one of them.
What I like most about Marine drive and Girgaon Chowpatty, I get to watch beautiful sunset with thousands of other people. I had spent my numerous evenings with my close friends at Marine Drive, a beautiful boulevard along with a coast of Arabian Sea. Though, Marine drive and chowpatty are always heavily crowded, but I never get tired of visiting them.
People come, sit and relax for hours. Local sellers offer chatai/mat to the visitors on charge of hours for the more comforting evening. There are a few food stalls nearby chowpatty. One can try street food/chat items like Panipuri, Pav bhaji, Bhelpuri, Ice creams etc.
Girgaon Chowpatty get a quite attention during the time of Ganesh Chaturthi, a Hindu festival. The beach is famous for Ganesh visarjan in Mumbai, where people come to immerse the Ganesh idols in the sea.
As per my Mission Mumbai 50 list, Girgaon Chowpatty and Marine Drive are the must see places in Mumbai.
So, next time when you are in Mumbai, you got to visit these places. I bet you will surely enjoy the sunset, evening, people and chowpatty special street foods.

I like the last group-photo! Nice detail to show the city. But such a large place, near the ocean. Must be dirty water 😉

Thank you once again Tieme!
That last group photo is a bit old photo with my friends and it always reminds how we had enjoyed monsoon in heavy rainfalls 🙂 we all were completely wet at the time of taking photo. 🙂
Actually, water is dirty and people are not allow to go in sea. So we do enjoy it from seashore.

Good old memories. But yikes, that must be really polluted water, that sucks 😦
But anyway, enjoying the view also is great. 🙂
